DHI PROVIDES LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS WITH ENERGY EFFICIENCY UPGRADES THROUGH LIWP AND MFES

DHI is committed to creating sustainable, efficient communities that deliver real savings and improved living conditions for its residents while enhancing the long-term value and performance of our properties.

Through California’s Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP), DHI provides energy efficiency upgrades at no cost to its Residents. LIWP is designed with the primary goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by generating clean renewable energy; LIWP also focuses on reducing energy expenses for low-income Residents. LIWP benefits Residents by improving household conditions, reducing energy costs, and strengthening economic security. Upgrades such as efficient insulation, lighting, and air conditioning also enhance comfort and improve community air quality.

DHI also works with California’s Energy Savings Assistance Multifamily Energy Savings program (MFES) to provide no-cost or reduced-cost energy efficiency upgrades to its affordable housing properties. The MFES program covers costs on energy-saving projects, including upgrades for lighting, heating and cooling, domestic hot water, energy-efficient appliances, and health and safety.

By implementing energy efficiency upgrades through the MFES and LIWP programs, we are improving both the comfort and affordability of residents’ homes while enhancing the performance and sustainability of our properties.
