The demand for affordable housing in California’s Central Coast has increased sharply with Santa Maria being the largest and fastest-growing city in Santa Barbara County. Centennial Square Apartments (re-named Sierra Sands Apartments), located in Santa Maria, CA, will consist of 184 fully affordable units to house approximately 650 residents.

Sierra Sands Apartments will exceed the certification standards for GreenPoint Rated. The integrated design strategy for the development was focused on numerous sustainable considerations including durability, water/energy efficiency, material sourcing, indoor air quality, and carbon reduction. The project includes installing a significant 991.44 kW PV Solar System that will annually produce 1.5 million kilowatt hours. And Sierra Sands Apartments will be fully electric with no gas heating, cooking, or any gas appliances of any type.

Set for completion in September 2024, the 6.3-acre site is an infill project with infrastructure and roads currently serving the project which greatly reduce our environmental impact on the area.
